How do you balance your personal life with your business or job? Do you constantly feel like you are running out of gas?
Well, that’s how I had been feeling recently.
So I decided to do something about it because I had just about had enough of feeling exhausted, crappy, irritable and burned out.
And of course I knew I had the resources to use to make myself feel better for example If I could do 10 minutes of Yoga every day, I would feel better.
Or meditate for 15 minutes before I leave for work in the morning.
So why was I not using the tools I had been taught and used for many years judiciously?
My excuse had been that I did not have enough time since my days were super busy with my full time job, starting a business part-time, being a mom and involved in my daughter’s multiple activities.
As I mentioned earlier, I decided to take charge of my health and well being. I had to stop and breathe and then REMEMBER how good I used to FEEL when I mediated, exercised, relaxed and ate health meals with pleasure instead of the constant rush I had become accustomed to.
I chose some activities I enjoyed and scheduled a day for each one and made it a RITUAL . I learned this concept from Leonie Dawson.
For example , I go to bed early on Tuesdays now, I rest and spend quality time with my daughter on Sundays. I meditate every evening now. I switch off on Friday evenings.
I do Yoga now two to three days a week, I have not yet scheduled this into my calendar. I Just do it on the days my body asks for it the most. Baby steps…..
I can assure you that I feel more at ease, creative and less overwhelmed by my daily activities.
It is really important to make time to do the things you really enjoy doing. You NEED to care for and nourish your Body, Mind and Spirit if you want to THRIVE.
